World History I: Early Civilizations and The Ancient World (G3-4)
Learning Objectives
This class will explore the foundations of World History from the migration of the earliest humans and first civilizations to the fall of Rome. Students will go on an incredible journey around the world while discovering the art and archeology of ancient cultures firsthand through virtual field trips with a trained historian.
Curriculum
We will be using The Story of the World: History for the Classical Child textbooks as our foundations. The curriculum and weekly presentations will be based on setting the foundation for students to participate in the US high school AP (Advanced Placement) courses and testing for college credits in world history. Through lots of visuals, primary sources and other interactive resources, this class will bring history to life while encouraging students to ask constructive and critical questions about the world around them.
Materials
Students will require a notebook or binder, a computer for research and presentation software (Google Slides or Powerpoint).
Assignments
Students will be assigned weekly research assignments and interactive presentations.
